In the near future, I'll be posting about a strawberry cobbler recipe I made yesterday, but for now I have a job for you to do, dear reader. Well, let's call it a "request for a favor", since job sounds like an obligation that might cause some of you to rebel.
As you know, my new status as a "Heart Momma" has been requiring me to put in a bit more effort in the faith department. I'm currently reading through the New Testament, which has been very encouraging to me so far. Over the next week or two, I'd like to make a list of Bible verses to memorize and carry with me during those difficult moments when my faith begins to fail me and the fears start taking over. Some of you have already given me a great start, but I'm sure there are plenty more out there (duh! It's the Bible, so of course there are lots more!). Here's how you can help: Leave a comment below or send an email [heatherisblog@yahoo.com]with a verse (or several) that has helped you through a difficult time in your own life. If you want, you can also share the story of what you were going through or how you came to find that particular verse. Once I have a decent sized list compiled, I'll post it here so we can all have a good resource to punch our fears in the face when our faith begins to droop.
***Note: I won't be posting anyone's names or stories in my verse list, so if you send your suggestion to my email it will be kept private. If you'd like to share your story with the public, feel free to leave it in the comment section so others can read it too.
This has been one of my favorite verses. I hope that it give you comfort and encouragement. I am so thankful for the opportunity to keep in touch with you, even though I live out West now. :-) Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 40:28-31
28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Heather as you know I too am having problems with my heart, and I can tell you how scared I am I have not even told Uncle Boug how scared I am,everyone just sees me as this person who just lets things roll off of her, but to tell you the truth it scares me to death, thinking I will never get to see my babies graduate and get married and have babies..that is all I want.the only thing that gets me thru all this is the old bible verse "If He brings you to it, He will bring you thru it..." I know that is not the exact wording and I do not know where to find it in the bible..just remember He has a reason for everything..I love you and I will continue to pray for you and your little one...Love Aunt Judy
